Sico ProLuxe Exterior Stain Cetol 23 Plus

SICO(R) ProLuxe(R) 23 Top Coat RE is a translucent topcoat for SICO(R) ProLuxe(R) 1 Primary Coat RE Wood Finish. The advanced alkyd resin retains elasticity and offers excellent durability and protection for siding, logs and other vertical surfaces. It offers improved clarity and colour retention, and minimizes occurrence of peeling and blistering.

Cetol 23 Coverage Rate:

• The estimated coverage per coat varies:
  • For rough and weathered surfaces: 200 – 300 sq. ft./gallon.
  • On smooth surfaces or hardwoods: 400 – 500 sq ft./gallon.
• The actual coverage may differ depending on factors such as wood type, age, texture, and application method.

Sikkens Cetol 23 RE Colors:

• Available colors include: Natural Oak, Dark Oak, Mahogany, Butternut, Cedar, Natural, Teak.

Application Methods:

• Recommended application methods include:
  • Long-haired Natural Bristle Brush.
  • Airless Sprayer: Utilize a .011”-.013” tip at 1200 – 1700 psi. Immediate back brushing is required.
  • Roller: Back brush immediately after application.

Dry Time:

• Drying Time: Minimum 24 hours at 20°C (68°F) and 65% relative humidity. Lower temperatures (below 10°C / 50°F) or high humidity may extend drying time.
• The product is touch dry in approximately 6 hours.
• Recoat in 24 hours; additional coats may prolong these times.
• Light foot traffic possible after approximately 48 hours.
• It is advisable to wait 7 days before using furniture.
• Extended drying times may occur under conditions of low temperature, high humidity, thick film, or poor ventilation. Avoid heavy abrasions post-application.

Cetol 23 Preparation Instructions:

• Before applying Sikkens Cetol 23 RE Wood Finish, ensure all wood surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, dried, and free from dirt, grease, grime, mildew, mill glaze, and previous coatings.
• While sanding with 80-120 grit sandpaper is recommended for preparing vertical wood surfaces, alternative preparation methods may also be used according to specified guidelines.
