Would you like to preserve your furniture and woodwork in good condition for a long period of time? Protect them from stains and damages as well as UV rays by using our protective finish. SamaN’s Tung oil can easily be applied by wiping resulting in a beautiful handmade “polished” style finish; ideal for a rustic or Scandinavian effect without sheen.
Thanks to its deep-penetrating formula and high-quality pigments, your dry aged unvarnished woods will certainly regain their original shine. With more than 10 colors to be mixed together, you will undoubtedly find the perfect color to fit your decor.
As our oil contains a minimal amount of refined solvents, its VOC content is below the scale of environmental standards. In addition to drying quickly, SamaN’s Tung Oil colors, seals and protects all your projects in only one coat. That way, you will be able to enhance the appearance of your floors, furniture and woodwork in just a few days.
Covering power:
A 946 ml (1L) container covers approximatively 300 sq. ft. (28 m2), depending on the porosity of the wood. Do not dilute.
Instructions
Before you begin:
Our Tung oil can only be applied onto bare or stained wood. Created for all interior wood surfaces such as paneling, woodwork, hardwood floors, furniture, frames and moldings and so much more.
Surface preparation:
- Remove all traces of wax or oil finish with paint thinner.
- Sand the surface following the direction of the wood grain using a 120 grit sandpaper. For a floor; finish with a 150 grit sandpaper.
- Remove all sandblasting dust.
- Apply one coat (recommended)
- If you stained your wood, wait a minimum of 4 hours before using our Tung oil.
Application:
- Stir thoroughly in order to mix the pigments evenly with the oil to obtain a slightly amber color.
- Do a test in a discreet area to check if the color and effect obtained are those desired.
- Apply with a soft cloth or cotton blend (SamaN Kit 60-004) and let it penetrates for 5 to 10 minutes. Important: wipe off the excess with another soft and clean cloth immediately.
- To achieve a glossier surface, use one of the SamaN’s furniture polyurethane finishes seven days after applying our Tung oil.
Drying Time:
From 6 to 8 hours.
Cleaning Tools:
Clean all tools and equipment with paint thinner.
